Important Airtable Changes Coming Feb 1, 2024: Action May Be Required
If you use Airtable integrations in Without Code, it is important that you take action before February 1, 2024 in order to avoid interruptions in service.
Airtable has has announced that they are making a significant change to their authorization methods. API keys are being deprecated and they are transitioning from API key authorization to using Personal Access Tokens for authorization. Airtable states that this change will provide greater security and improved features.
This change affects Without Code users that utilize Airtable for Collections or widgets (see FAQ for detailed information on all Airtable integrations within Wocode). To ensure that your sites continue to work properly, it is crucial that your Airtable integrations are updated with Personal Access Tokens.
We’re happy to announce that all Airtable integrations within Wocode have been updated to accept Personal Access Tokens, so you can replace your soon-to-expire API tokens as soon as you like.
To Update Your Airtable With Personal Access Tokens:
- Acquire your Personal Access Token from Airtable (see video below).
- Access your collection or widget.
- Replace the API key with your Personal Access Token.
- If updating a collection, click Refresh Data and then Done. No further action is required for widgets.
Airtable API Change Timeline
It is imperative that you update your Airtable integrations by February 1st, 2024. API keys will be deprecated at this time, and will no longer function. The full timeline is as follows:
- August 1, 2023: Personal Access Tokens must be used when creating a new Airtable collection within Wocode. Personal Access Tokens may be used in older, existing integrations.
- February 1, 2024:
API keys will be deprecated and no longer be accepted by Airtable. Airtable integrations using API keys will experience disruptions if they aren't updated.
FAQ
How do I know if I’m using Airtable for something?
You may be using Airtable on your Wocode site if you are using Dynamic Pages or certain widgets. The following features offer Airtable integrations:
- Collections: Airtable is one option for managing data in collections. Other options include Google Sheets, internal collections and external collections. Access your collections by visiting: Content > Collections.
- Business Directory widget
- Search widget
- Connected Data widgets: Many widgets allow you to connect them to collections. These widgets do not require Personal Access Tokens from Airtable, but it’s possible that the collection the widget connects to does.
If you don’t use collections for anything, and you don’t use the Business Directory or the Search widget, no action is needed.

What if I do nothing?
